In Christ:

Such a short phrase with eternal implications.

An identity for me,

A victory for us.

No longer must I to every whim succumb;

My identity is in the Holy One.

Every blessing, grace, power, and wisdom to me He gave.

Yet, not only to me when He forgave,

But to us,

His holy and chosen race.

My identity is no longer me

But we.

No longer an I,

But an us.

Us, as an object of blessing

A blessing for which the angels would sing.

A child of the Infinite Omnipotent King

Is the identity of you and me:

In Christ.
