Being a pastor is amazing. I love it. I love being able to open up God’s Word with people. I love being able to pray with people. I love being able to encourage people. I love being plugged into a community and showing it Christ.

I love my life calling.

But being a pastor can be hard.

Our God is mighty and powerful. He is incomprehensibly mighty and powerful. He is the Mighty King.

Here is Psalm 24’s description of Him

1The earth is the LORD’s and the fullness thereof,a
the world and those who dwell therein,
2for He has founded it upon the seas
and established it upon the rivers.

3Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD?
And who shall stand in his holy place?
4He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not lift up his soul to what is false
and does not swear deceitfully.
5He will receive blessing from the LORD
and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6Such is the generation of those who seek him,
who seek the face of the God of Jacob.b Selah

7Lift up your heads, O gates!
And be lifted up, O ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
8Who is this King of glory?
The LORD, strong and mighty,
the LORD, mighty in battle!
9Lift up your heads, O gates!
And lift them up, O ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
10Who is this King of glory?
The LORD of hosts,
He is the King of glory! Selah

I have to fall back on the truth of God’s might so often. I have to fall back on God’s love so often. I need the Heavenly Father when I have prayer requests given to me each week about children dying of cancer, congregants in stage four cancer, people in the community committing (or attempting) suicide, or when a family keeps having hard pregnancies.

When I am left with no easy, quick, or simple answers, that is when I actually have the most to offer others. Our God is great. Sometimes I have to be in a situation where my own wisdom, experience, and understanding is gone in order to remember how true this is.

Below is a video of an artist that has been a great encouragement to me since early November. I love how this man focuses on Christ, and I love that he sings in Hebrew. I pray that listening to this song can bring you the encouragement it has brought me, and I pray that God shows you how great He is.
